香港自由龍龍舟會，成立於二零零一年十一月六日，及在二零零二年五月三十日，完成註冊之非牟利團體。
香港自由龍龍舟會主要是由一群對龍舟運動充滿熱誠的人仕組成，隊員是來自不同之階層及職業，希望透過長期的龍舟訓練及比賽，培訓一班熱愛龍舟運動之愛好者，從而達到推廣龍舟之目的。
本會除了經常積極參與本港及中國各省市舉辦的龍舟比賽外，更會參與海外地區之龍舟比賽；多年來足跡遍佈韓國、泰國、俄羅斯海參威、檳城、沙巴、古晉、印尼、台灣、德國、法國及美國等不同國家，幸運地能見識不同地區之龍舟文化。
香港自由龍自二零零四年開始至今，持續每年籌集會員捐款，助養三十多名，在中國四川省市貧窮山區生活之孤兒，讓孤兒們有機會上學讀書。十多年來，部份孤兒巳由小學、中學到最後升上大學。
在二零一八年至今，已有多名孤兒大學畢業後，開始正式投身社會工作，這正是我們香港自由龍當初助養孤兒上學之祈望。
本會所舉辦之任何活動，均歡迎隊員攜同家屬一同參加，令到隊員與家屬間增進溝通，將自由龍凝聚成為一個大家庭。
而香港自由龍龍舟會，出外比賽之所有使用經費，全部都是各位會員自己支付。
Hong Kong Freedom Dragon Boat Club was found on 6 November 2001, and was registered as a Non-Profit Organizations on 30 May 2002.
The club was founded by a group of dragon boat enthusiasts from all walks of life. Our goal is to promote the sport by training up a group of dragon boat lovers through long-term training and participation in various competitions.
We actively and regularly participate in different matches held in Hong Kong and different other countries and cities. We are fortunate to experience different dragon boat culture in Korea, Thailand, Russia Vladivostok, Penang, Sabah, Kuching, Indonesia, Taiwan, Germany, France and the United States, etc. All expenses for overseas competition are self-financed.
In addition, the club also has been raising money among the members to sponsor thirty-plus poor orphans living in the rural areas in Sichuan, China for their school fees since 2004. Since 2018, a few of orphans graduated from the university, started to work and make contribution to the society.
Our members are all happy to bring their family members to participate in the activities, through which to enhance the relationship between families, and maintain the coherent force of the Freedom Dragon Boat Club by giving mutual support to each other.
